Shepherds to Care for You

You ask, “Why do I not trust God or churches?” That’s easy. They don’t seem to care for you.

Jeremiah 23 addresses the failures of Israel’s leaders and prophesies the coming of a righteous king. This chapter emphasizes the importance of true leadership and the consequences of leading people astray.

“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.

2 . . . “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the Lord.

3 “I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number.

4 I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.

Translated for today, where are the “pastors, teachers and prophets” helping God’s flock? Who is shepherding over the brokenhearted person who came through severe childhood tragedy?

Do they care? Are they listening?

I believe many churches are scattering those of us that came through childhood incest and other traumas that are too much for “the church.”

God is changing that. I am changing that with his help.

I have spent 20 years developing curriculum inside a law firm — learning how to make hard material something a person under stress can take in. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and incest. I now train healing at my new learning center ~ Awakening You #UCU.

You are not alone. It’s time for me to give back all that God has created through me and in me.
