Where Fire Has Gone: A Call to Godly Purpose

I see it everywhere—in my own life and out in the world….men in collapse. Not just tired, not just distracted, but completely surrendered. No fire. No vitality. It breaks my heart… I want to fix it but I’m not even sure how to diagnose it. I think about it a lot as I’m raising my own boys and I refuse to let this happen to them. I want them to grow up strong, rooted in God, aware of their calling, and willing to embrace responsibility. I want them to feel the weight of purpose and the fire of action, so they never know what it is to drift through life without direction or resolve.

I do believe part of it is spiritual. God designed men for purpose, for protection, for action. But too many have lost sight of that calling. The world has stripped away challenges, responsibility, and accountability, leaving nothing to defend, nothing to build. Comfort and distraction have replaced courage and sacrifice.

I’ve watched it happen, and I’ve wrestled with it myself. When a man drifts without God at the center, he drifts into despair. When he ignores the higher calling, he shrinks into himself, losing the strength God meant him to wield.

I believe revival begins when men reclaim their God-given role. When they step into responsibility, embrace challenge, and place God first, vitality returns. Men are made to build, to lead, to protect, to fight—not just for themselves, but for something greater than themselves.

This is my prayer and my call: men, rise. Stand in the strength God gave you. Your purpose is waiting.
